Rabobank introduces LEF Fund
The Rabobank offices in Limburg joined forces to offer a new fund to starting entrepeneurs in Limburg to finance their innovation or new development: the LEF Fund. With this fund Rabobank plans to invest between 15 – 20 million euro’s in the economic development of Limburg companies (SME’s). (read the whole article in Dutch)

Study of personnel needs in Life Sciences
LifetecZONe participates in the project: “Regional Cooperation for Global Knowledge” AND in the Project “Kweek de Kwekers” , both projects intent to study the need for personnel in the Life Sciences sector in South-East Netherlands. The Global Knowledge projects focuses on mainly academic staff and inquires about a possible shortage in the number of personnel and if there is a need for improvement in the qualifications of those employed. The “Kweek de Kwekers” projects focuses on specialized staff such as cleanroom staff and GMP/GLP trained staff.

Chemelot Open Lab

Chemelot, the high-tech campus adjacent to DSM in Geleen, and Hogeschool Zuyd, the principal tertiary education establishment in South Limburg are joining hands in a project involving education, research and business related to innovative materials. The project will be supported by a program known as Peaks in the Delta, in the southern Netherlands, and it will involve an open laboratory at the Chemelot campus which will be used as a training center and for professional research and development.

Important role for biometrists when treating chronic heart and lung failure
The Biometrics programme offered by Zuyd University will continuously be deploying students and graduated students on work placement at CIRO Horn and will participate in research projects at the rehabilitation centre. This is the first specific result from a partnership that both organisations concluded last year. Wednesday 12 March the agreement will be signed that sets out the arrangements for the deployment of Biometrics students.
