The Top Technology Region and Biomedica
Biomedica symbolizes the success of life science in the Top Technology Region (TTR) from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. In less than four years it has become one of the most important European interdisciplinary congresses dedicated to science meeting business. This is particularly true for the regions of Aachen, Maastricht, Liège, Hasselt, Eindhoven and Leuven.
TTR ranks among the top-five in Europe regarding the absolute number of patents and number of patents per 1000 employees. Also TTR holds a high innovation potential in the Technology Sector (BAK) and has selected the areas of Life sciences, Advanced Materials and High Tech Systems for future growth. Biomedica links science and business and fosters interregional cooperation in TTR’s Technology sector.
